Pluto, discovered in 1930 and recognized as the ninth planet planet from the Sun, lost that status when the International Astronomical Union redefined a planet as a heavenly body that orbits a star, is not a star itself, and has enough gravity to pull itself into a nearly round shape and to clear its orbit of other cosmic stuff.
Since Pluto's orbit crosses that of the much bigger eighth planet, Neptune, Pluto will now be a "dwarf planet."
Unimental Designs is paying tribute to this news with "Pluto... DWARFED!", a new design for us astronomy geeks.
